Residence 301

With a defined facade, this private residence combines traditional and modern architectural features. Three finishes of pink Jerusalem stone (Sleib) have been used, giving definition to the building form. The lower stone courses have a roughly chiseled“tubza”finish which contrasts with a lightly chiseled “musamsem” finish for the upper stone courses. The staircase mass that protrudes out to the rear of the building form and rises above the roof balcony has a contrasting smooth finished stone with minimal vertical joints. The horizontal joints are defined with a dark colored grout creating a banded effect. This same language is applied to the triangular bay that jumps out from the left facade. Together, this mix of stone finishes and coursing techniques creates an exciting and interesting building mass. The front gate columns continue the stone language of banding course with double height courses, recessed upper band and then a defined top crowning stone.
